Up-to-date and detailed information on applying to start school in September can be found on the Local Authority Admissions website:

In-Year Admissions
The Oak Partnership Trust is the Admissions Authority for West Monkton C of E School. You can read our admissions arrangements below.
This provides parents with details on how applications are considered, including over-subscription criteria and appeals. There is also information on the process for parents, and answers to common admissions questions. The window for Reception class applications each year runs from September to Mid-January. Applications should be made direct to County for these places, and parents are directed to refer to the Somerset County website for confirmation on dates.
Any in-year applications will need to be processed via the school and will be subject to the criteria outlined in the Trust admissions arrangements policy. The application form for in-year applications can be found below.
We manage our own in-year admissions and can allocate your child a place at the school on receipt of a completed in-year application form (available to download below). If we are full in that particular year group, we will refuse your application. You will then receive information from Somerset Local Authority, who are the Admission Authority, about how to appeal and what other school places are available locally.
More information about in-year admissions and appeals can be found here.
Where an application has been refused in any year group, the child will be placed on a waiting list. This will be kept strictly in order of over-subscription criteria by the Local Authority, as the Admission Authority, and the child will remain on the waiting list until the end of the academic year in which the application was refused. Parents are responsible for informing the Admission Authority of any changes in their circumstances which could affect their place on the waiting list.
Please contact the office at West Monkton with any queries around admissions on 01823 412582.

School Catchment
A school catchment area is a defined geographical boundary that determines which children are eligible to attend a particular school based on their residential address. This system helps manage admissions and ensure local children can attend nearby schools. You can check your child's catchment school by clicking on the link below and entering your address. We use this tool to confirm whether your child is in catchment when processing your application and considering the oversubscription criteria, if appropriate, in the event of an appeal.
