Welcome to Year 4!
Summer 1
Changing Britain: A Journey Through the Decades
This half term, Year 4 will be taking a journey through time as we explore changes in life, politics, style and technology from the 1950's until current day by exploring 1 decade at a time. We will focus on key historical events through history which impacted Britain today. Like the invention of the fridge following the second World War, the 1970's strikes which plunged Britain into darkness and the events of Windrush in the 1960's.
We are so excited to invite the children to The Decade Dance on Monday 18th May, where they can dress in any decade that they choose, listen to music throughout time and talk about all of their wonderful learning.
This half-term, we continue our narrative writing inspired by the story 'Journey' by Aaron Becker. A fantastic picture-only book in which the children will be able to use their writing skills in order to create wonderful stories inspired by the images on the page. We are so excited to read them!
